The Kangaroo Hoppet brings together cross-country skiers for a week's festivities, culminating in a ski marathon through the Bogong High Plains of Victoria's Alpine National Park. The Hoppet is a part of the Worldloppet races held each year around the world. For those who do not feel up to the challenge of the 42 kilometre event, there are the shorter 21 kilometre Australian Birkebeiner and 7 Kilometre Joey Hoppet events starting just after the main event. Whether you take two hours or eight hours, the Kangaroo Hoppet brings visitors and participants together to enjoy the well-groomed trail with six food stations. The Kangaroo Hoppet is a feast of skiing and social activities at Falls Creek for all ages and abilities leading up to the race itself on the last Saturday of August. Spectators are welcome to view the event at the mountain. Join us in 2010 at Falls Creek to celebrate the Twentieth Anniversary Kangaroo Hoppet.
